Our main course facilitator is no stranger to mindfulness and kindfulness. Having practised it for more than a decade, Nel is living proof of how both these practices can transform your life completely.

Nelum Jayakody, a former banker and a Sri Lankan, the founder of Mindfulness today and Kindfulness Therapy, is an experienced mindfulness teacher who has been teaching since 2014.

As a result of the chronically stressful life she used to live for years in the corporate world, she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at one point in her life. This disease with no cure was the turning point that led her to discovering mindfulness and ultimately, Nel cured herself almost completely by practising mindfulness on a deeper level.

Nel has been helping many students to overcome similar circumstances through Glasgow mindfulness centre for years. Her thorough training in mindfulness (as listed below) and her extensive experience with students spanning over years speak volumes of how competent of a teacher she is to be your facilitator as you embark on your journey of mindfulness. Nelum is fully qualified to teach Mindfulness programmes for both adults and children.

As someone who leads by example, Nelum continues to find time in her schedule to further engage in regular vipassana retreats to deepen her expertise of mindfulness.

Helping children who face poverty and crisis is a cause close to Nelum’s heart and she is involved in projects to improve their life chances and well-being. Such projects include responding to the needs of those displaced in the aftermath of the Tsunami of 2004 and ongoing work with terminally ill children in Sri Lanka.
