Privacy & Cookies
The Glasgow Mindfulness Centre is committed to protecting your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. We collect the personal information you choose to give us — for example, when you complete our contact or booking form. This typically includes your name, email address, telephone number and the details of your enquiry.
Information collected automatically. If you accept analytics cookies, our analytics provider (Google Analytics) collects anonymous, aggregated statistics about how the site is used. This does not identify you personally, and nothing is collected until you agree — see Cookies & Analytics below.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us solely to respond to your enquiry, to arrange and administer your booking, and to keep in touch with you about the course or session you have asked about. We use the anonymous analytics information only to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
Keeping Your Information
We keep your information only for as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry or booking and to meet any legal or accounting requirements, after which it is securely deleted.
Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses two kinds of cookies:
- Essential cookies — necessary for the site to work properly and securely. These are always active.
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4, our website analytics provider, only if you accept them. They help us understand how visitors find and use the site (for example which pages are viewed, how long visits last, and the general type of device and browser used) so that we can improve it. They are named
_gaand_ga_<id>and typically last up to two years.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, none are set. You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page — withdrawing also removes any analytics cookies already stored.
The analytics data is pseudonymous and is not used to identify you. Google does not store your IP address in Google Analytics 4 — it is used only to estimate your approximate (city-level) location and is then discarded. As our analytics processor, Google may transfer and process this data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. You can read how Google handles it in the Google Privacy Policy and “How Google uses information from sites that use its services”.
You are in control of analytics cookies. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop your visits being measured. Refusing cookies will not stop you using the site, though some parts may not work exactly as intended.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw any consent at any time. To make a request, please email us at glasgowmindfulnesscentre@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
